Spider-Man’s Turn for Steampunk Treatment

Published by at 1:00 pm under Comics,Images

A few of you should remember this rather cool gallery from a few weeks ago that had Batman and friends redesigned in the ’50s. Well, the same artist, Denis Medri, is back at work on another franchise redesign: Spider-Man.

He’s gone with Steampunk as his theme of choice this time around, and I have to say, it fits with the universe pretty damn well. Spidey is above, and a whole host of villains are below. Mary Jane is MIA. I guess she would probably look the same, but with goggles. Those steampunk guys do love their goggles.

Who should he do next? I vote the X-Men, if he hasn’t already.

    @the_dude_abides-
    Good. Story. Grandpa.
    That said, I may think that steampunk is a little played out, I still appreciate the creativity behind these for sure!

    I like them all, except Spider-Man, as odd as that sounds. I do like his design, I just don’t see how the webbing works when you make it steampunk. It’s one thing to have Doc Oc with hydraulic legs instead of whatever he really used, but what is the steampunk version of a super sticky, strong, thin material that can be fired out of wrist launchers?

    @GrandWazoo: Actual spider web?

    Putting Venom in clothes just looks odd, and Rhino looks like a bad cosplayer. The rest are nice though.

    @Pauli
    Where is the creativity ? Everything as its steampunk counterpart now, it is boring.

    I’m not sure why somebody would purposely click on this article, scroll through the images, and post a comment if the subject is offensive.

    I, for one, thought these were excellent. It’s a good take on Steampunk – actually thinking the needs and processes out, rather than just copy/pasting details like goggles and gears. To the artist: bravo!

    If you don’t like steampunk then move along. I don’t like porn, that doesn’t mean I go around clicking on every porn thing there is to say so (although if I DID like it I suppose that would be a good excuse).
