Memorable Moments in Movies: Rocky’s Comeback Speech

Published by at 9:00 am under Columns,Movies

Considering that Rocky Balboa just wasn’t a great movie by our standards (and I assume many other people’s) I’m surprised at how much “wisdom” comes from this movie.   And by wisdom I mean two scenes with fantastic speeches that are heartfelt and meaningful.

Stallone was smart in speaking the “Rocky” way.  Almost sounding dumb but the dumb not mattering because the message is so powerful.  And in this scene, the pursuit of happiness couldn’t be better displayed than by a 50 something year old wanting to do exactly what it is he loves.

Great scene.

What are you talking about? Rocky Balboa was a great movie. Scenes like this one and the speech he gives to his son about life are what make it good. Best one since part 2. To each there own I guess
