12 Recurring TV Show Jokes I’ll (Probably) Never Get Sick Of

Published by at 10:00 am under Lists,Television

7)  “Good news, everyone!” – Futurama

Spoiler alert: the news isn’t usually that great. (And also, try not reading that phrase in the Professor’s voice. I can’t do it.)

8)  Brock Samson’s extensive history of badassery – The Venture Bros.

So yeah, I guess Brock Samson is to Adult Swim what Ron Swanson is to NBC, except with way more casualties. Brock’s body count must be in the thousands, and I never get tired of the myriad ways he dispatches henchmen, crocodiles, killer sharks, robots, paranormal creatures…well, you get the idea. The legend of Brock Samson grows with each season, and now that I think about it, if you gave the guy some adamantium claws and a hair dye kit, he’s basically Wolverine.

9)  Terry – Reno 911

I’ve always been a fan of Nick Swardson’s standup, but he’s pretty funny on roller-skates, too.

10)  Liz Lemon’s awful sexual history – 30 Rock

30 Rock thrives on rapid-fire one-liners, and I love the occasional glimpses into Liz’s dreadfully awkward sex life. I would date the hell out of that woman just out of curiosity.

11)  Dr. Rockzo – Metalocalypse

Dr. Rockzo is a “rock n’ roll clown” with a drug problem. Just another excuse for the world to continue fearing clowns, I suppose.

12)  Schrute Farms – The Office

I kind of lost interest in The Office years ago, but my favorite part about Dwight’s persona is his rustic heritage. Beet farming is the perfect juxtaposition against his humdrum nine-to-five as a paper salesman. How do I know? Because I grew up on a dairy farm, actually. And now I work in an office. In a cubicle.

Oh crap. No wonder I like this running joke so much. I’m turning into a Schrute.

“This is how we get ants!”

Pretty much every joke from Arrested Development could have made this list

not all of these are recurring jokes, just recurring characters. A recurring joke would be like the cast of Community humming ‘Daybreak’ throughout the show, in different episodes.

Frisky Dingo reminds me of Archer and vice versa

    @ dolaction

That’s coz Archer and Frisky Dingo are both made by Adam Reed.

I don’t know, man. Dr. Rockzo wasn’t very funny after season one. But few things bring joy to my heart like “Shut up, Leonard”.

For 30 Rock I would say Kenneth’s immortality or Jenna’s history of horrible treatment at the hands of men. Particularly Mickey Rourke.

ted (the dush from HIMYM) saying “please dont” all the time when someone is having sex while he is present in the room.

I really think ted is insane and he has no kids, he is in a mental home delirious.

Oh, folks, I can watch FRISKY DINGO forever, and I’ll never get tired of any of the recurring jokes. That show was pure genius.

In Archer, jokes about Lana’s giant hands always make me laugh, as does Archer’s ringtone.

Penny Can from Cougar Town should have made the list.

I thought after Ron Swanson drank the moonshine he should have had his mustache back right after.
