I was planning on saving all E3 related posting until after the show was over and I could do some sort of an official countdown, but sorry, I couldn’t wait to post this gameplay footage from The Last of Us that premiered last night during Sony’s keynote address.
For those of you don’t know, The Last of Us is what Uncharted studio, Naughty Dog, is doing after that game has wrapped up. It’s in a post-apocalyptic city where you play a survivalist male escorting a teenage girl around. There are zombies, or something like zombies, lurking around, but other survivors can be even more dangerous, as seen in this video.
I’m still trying to understand exactly what I’m seeing here. The entire combat sequence seems like it’s straight out of a movie. That makes it look lovely a fluid, but it also has me wondering how much of encounters like this are scripted events, and how much is actual gameplay. If EVERY encounter is as dynamic as this one? That’s truly amazing. Check it out for yourself above, it’s a must see. More gameplay videos tomorrow or the next day most likely.
