Were you really THAT surprised they made ANOTHER sequel to a movie?

The other two MIB movies are totally watchable still. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if they're on, I watch them.

Movies back then, it seems, did not flop like the crap that gets churned out these days. Sure, they are silly, slap-stick alien comedy, but they're still fairly original and entertaining. Now days, it seems most movies that come out are just gimmicky and vastly underdeveloped.

When did movie houses decide to take a big shit on their viewers? Maybe it was all that Jurassic Park sequel nonsense.. I don't know.

It just seems like the current recipe for movies is 1) big budget - 2) big stars 3) big explosions, 3D or some other gimmick. This, paired with trying to appeal to as many demographics as possible is what makes movies suck ass.

While those things can be very valuable in a movie, without a solid plot, well, this is what's given us movies along the lines of Battleship.

I understand the sequel strategy: it's easier to advertise to existing fans than to make new ones.. but understand this: when it's a good damn movie, we ACTUALLY go see it, tell our friends to go see it, buy it for our parents when it comes to DVD... etc.

They say, there's no such thing as bad publicity, well a bad review can kill a movie.

MIB 3 shows that even the most outlandish movie ideas (MIB sequel about time travels.. wtf?) can make a decent movie when properly scripted.

Forcing a kids movie on adults or vice versa is the quickest way to ruin a movie... The humor should flow naturally for both demographics. If there had been a bunch of stereotyping aliens, some alien dance numbers, drunk aliens, tiny aliens hunching hot chick's legs, etc... all of that could've been added (and have to other movies) to completely ruin this movie.

I'm glad this movie turned out okay... I'm not aching to go see it by no means, but it is a movie from back in the day and deserves to be done right.
