The Final Countdown: Video Games’ Original Design, Les Miserables and Diablo 3 Hacked
Go here to see if video games had gone with their original design.
“Every great video game is exactly one decision away from being a disaster. We asked you to prove it by changing a single decision in the development process of great video games that would have made them suck.”

Just read your thoughtful and timely Forbes piece. Waded into the muck of the comments section for a bit…. from under what bridge do these a-holes spawn from? One of the biggest turn offs of MMO’s for me is the forum community. Soulless monsters. Their thinking seems to be something along the lines of “Your issue didn’t happen or doesn’t bother me, therefore you’re some kind of an idiot for letting it happen to or bother you. I’ve also never had cancer, therefore anyone who does is a moron worthy of contempt.”
Can you imagine knowing some of these people in real life?
You: “Hey good buddy, sorry I’m late. Traffic was a mess because there was a wreck.”
Reply: “I’m not late and I’ve never been late. If you weren’t such a moron you would have left an hour earlier than you thought you needed to. Superior people who aren’t late, like myself, predict these things and that’s why nothing bad or unexpected happens to us.”
Thanks Postal, needed to hear that. Been one of those days…
Yeah Paul, don’t let those f’ers get to you.
This stinks to high heaven of an issue on Blizzard’s side, either that or the single most pervasive keylogger on the planet that just so happens to be directed straight at Diablo 3 and battle.net users.
Blizzard either doesn’t want to admit to the public or themselves just how bad a problem they’ve got.
It’d be simple simple for them to implement just a small bit of extra security that threw up a few questions or asked for email authentication when you account was accessed from a new IP address. SIMPLE.
The problem is just too big too soon for it to be lazy, incompetent users.
You know what else it could be? It could be either current or former Blizzard employee(s) that has/had access to their user database and passwords.
Oh, by the by, Google has SMS authentication for GMail as well. Probably a good idea to look into that and put it to use.
