If Batman Was a ’50s Tough Guy

Published by at 11:00 am under Comics,Images

Technically, Batman was around in the ’50s, as he was created in 1939 by Bob Kane. But here artist Dennis Medri decided to see what the Batman universe might look like with a little bit more of a “Grease” flair.

He’s drawn a wonderful series of sketches that show Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Joker, Peguin and many more in the ’50s, and I really like his ideas for each character. The rough sketches are great, but I’d love to see someone take this concept to the max, as it’s definitely a Saturday morning cartoon I would wake up and watch.

Batman looks like Claude from GTA3. Actually, they all kind look like they could have been in GTA3. Maybe in the 1950s Liberty City was once Gotham City?

I love these. Catwoman and the Batmobile especially, but all of it is great. Someone needs to petition DC about this.
