Avengers Artistically Assemble

Published by at 10:00 am under Comics,Images,Movies

It’s an ongoing contest to see which film can generate more hype, The Dark Knight Rises or The Avengers. I’m excited for both, but I’d say the cooler amount of fan art is in favor of The Avengers at the moment.

Case in point being this awesome poster series from The Creative Shark, which takes each hero and gives them an Olly Moss style artistic print. The six main heroes are featured, and Thor, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Hulk and Black Widow are below. I’m not a huge comics person, but do Hawkeye and Black Widow even have powers? I know neither got their own movies, but they seem like the odd couple out here.

See the rest of the posters below, and buy them here.

These are pretty cool. I like the Thor and Hulk ones the best. And to answer your question about Hawkeye and Black Widow. No, neither one of them have superpowers. If I’m not mistaken, both were bad guys that turned good. Hawkeye is just an exceptional marksman and Black widow is a super spy.

These are all awesome, but I think I like Hulk’s the best. I love checking out all this artistic talent on your site, some of it is pretty incredible. It makes me wish I could art too :(

Iron Man doesn’t have powers, either.

Awesome posters, and as a fan of both Batman and The Avengers, I am loving most of the hype generation in both camps. Hawkeye and Black Widow were both bad guys yes, but Hawkeye originally had a place on the team because Captain America saw him fight, recruited him on the spot, and trained him himself in combat. Black Widow was a ballerina, turned spy, who originally found her way into Spider-Man’s books, then shuffled around as bookless hero, used by others when they needed a little jump in readership by adding a hot female for a short arc. The current film incarnations are from the Marvel Ultimate comic universe, which doesn’t change a thing in terms of Black Widow’s backstory, but makes Jeremy Renner a good fit for Hawkeye because he’s much more an egotistical jackass of a character there, and Renner, from what I’ve seen him in, can play that pretty well.

    Hope any of that helps.
