Recording Russell’s Voice for Up

Published by at 2:00 pm under Movies,Videos

I was sent this rather cool video this weekend, and I thought you all might enjoy it as well. You’ll find very few people that don’t like Disney/Pixar’s Up, and one of the main reason for that is the endearing, memorable characters.

Russell, the chubby boy scout, has a number of classic lines throughout the film, but always manages to seem like an authentic, real boy. This video shows how the producers tried to find a kid that wasn’t a cheesy “child actor” as most of them are, but actually a real kid who could deliver his lines with authenticity. The things they have him do to trick him into a “real” performance are kind of neat. Check it out for yourself above.

I actually didn’t realize Russell is Asian in the movie until I saw a random interview with this kid.

    Bonus point for Asian kid.

Minus point for not being fat.
