Video Game Dating Advice

Published by at 3:00 pm under Images,Video Games

Or too dumb. Or she just didn’t grow up with video games. Can you name Barbie’s black friend? I THINK NOT!

If you both don’t know who these are, then you’re perfect for each other, and you can go on hiking trips and read books together.

I am just a touch thrown off by Link’s pink hair here. He must have just acquired the Ocarina of Fabulousness.

Pink hair Link is A Link to the Past Link. One of the best Zelda games ever. Respect.

    Shaniqua?

Link’s hair was likely colored pink to help it be visible on TVs of the time. Notice how his tunic is a bit off-color from how its looked since Ocarina of Time – TVs didn’t always have the best color balance then. Mine certainly didn’t.
Besides that, the sprite was relatively tiny, and the SNES didn’t have an on-screen palette big enough (256 colors plus transparency) for the finely detailed color modern consoles have.

Any couple dating who don’t know who these characters are don’t go on hiking trips and read books. They watch Jersey Shore and go clubbin’ yo!!

Um… 3-year-olds know who these characters are. You act like they’ve never appeared in any games since the 90s.

This meme always bugs me. Anyone old enough to play video games in the 1980s is bordering on too old for me.

Besides, all three characters are still around. Shouldn’t it be, “If she’s so out of touch she doesn’t know these famous fictional characters, she’s too OLD for you”?

Barbie’s Black friend is named Christie.

I like that everyone loves Mario and Zelda, to remind me out how epically shit Nintendo was compared to sega, and how maggoty shitcunts somehow made sega die and nintendo live on to ruin enterttainment in the muddiest fuckbag way.

think I’m drunk a 4:21am, you bet your steaming clit sack I am.

@Slzy you prove there there needs to be a sobriaty limit for forum goers.

@Veronica The memes funny becuase anyone not old enough to reconise sprites is to young for those that do. but to be fair there is half a point, these characters are still around so a good stipulation to add on would be “reconises the game these sprites are from”

and at this point i’d like to quote Daniel tosh “can we move on sticklers to every joke?”

  12. Ender88on 06 May 2012 at 6:07 pm

considering those are all characters with recent games I don’t see how that joke makes sense at all. Plus it’s like the fifth time I am seeing it dig deeper unreality

Pink hair link… I just figured it was either part of his hat, or a really weird shade of red.

  14. Jynxouson 06 May 2012 at 9:52 pm

You didn’t know that was the color of Link’s hair on the sprites in the SNES Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past? Maybe you’re the one who’s too young here, son.

  15. Your motheron 07 May 2012 at 3:23 am

I recognize the one on the left, no idea who the one is on the right, and I love Sonice. Also
@Strife89 Ocarina of Time came AFTER Link to the Past you dumb piece of shit

  16. Mr. Righton 07 May 2012 at 1:35 pm

@Veronica: Except you know, two of those sprites are from 90′s games, not 80′s.
