Go here to see the most sexist superhero costumes.

Yes, that is “sexist” not “sexiest” though you might disagree if you have a thing for fictional animated women. But there’s a difference between sexy and ridiculous, and here are instances where the line is crossed.

The Venom Symbiote Chooses His Most Innocuous Victim

Published by Paul Tassi under Comics,Images

I’m not one to post random and cool nature photos just because they are indeed random and cool, but I couldn’t pass up what has the be the best real-life interpretation of the Venom symbiote I’ve ever seen.

It’s a rare kind of caterpillar that looks like it landed here on the back of a meteor, and if it bit me, I would actually be disappointed if I didn’t develop superpowers within the day.

When that thing comes out of a cocoon later, that’s going to be the most evil looking butterfly on the planet.

Flying People in New York City

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies,Videos

I’m not going to pretend that this is anything more than viral marketing, but I will say it’s the best damn bit of viral marketing I can remember seeing in years.

It’s a stunt for the movie teenager superhero flick Chronicle, where human shaped cut-outs were attached to RC planes and flown around NYC. The effect, as you’ll see, is quite incredible, and I’ll be damned if that wouldn’t have caught me off guard if I didn’t know what was going on.

Also cool to note is that Unreality guest writer TJ Fink was actually involved in crafting this project. And I hear Chronicle is pretty damn good to boot.

A Collection of Fashionable Disney Princesses

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Movies

It seems that not a week goes by where I don’t have to feature some sort of Disney princess redesign, but I will say this is one of the cooler ones. Nothing oversexed here to taint your childhood memories (or improve them?). Rather, artist Viktoria has taken the most popular princesses from classic Disney features and given them a fashionable redesign that draws on their original outfits.

They all come out looking somewhat hipsterish, but I guess that’s how the kids are dressing these days. If you like the ones above, there are actually seven more below, with classic beauties like Jasmine, Belle, Mulan and Rapunzel featured.

I Want to Be the Very Best, Like No One Ever Was

Published by Paul Tassi under Editorials,Video Games

Once upon a time, there was a game called Super Smash Bros. 64. At the tender age of 12, I discovered it was in fact that coolest thing that had ever existed. I had played Mario, I had played Zelda, I had played Pokemon. I’d played every fighting game under the sun. But never before did I think that they could all combine in a game THIS epic.

There were glimpses of such collaborations with games like Mario Kart and Party, but this brought in EVERY cherished Nintendo franchise of the time, and having them slug it out was far more satisfying to a pre-teen boy then seeing them race.

There wasn’t a single moment I didn’t love this game. I quickly beat the story mode with every character, and the very first time Ness challenged me, I lost to him. I started playing against harder and harder computers, and finally ended up introducing the game to my friends.

Why Do Microsoft and Apple Treat Us Like Idiots?

Published by Paul Tassi under Editorials,Videos

by TJ Fink

As anyone who has ever gone to a book reading can tell you, individual humans have the capacity for logical, critical thought. As anyone who has ever gone to a summer music festival can tell you, however, a lot of this logic gets tossed out the window when said individuals find themselves in large crowds.

This becomes a delicate balance for our nation’s advertising industry. Yes, they’re shilling products whose monetary success relies on mass consumption, but winning ads must also cater to the sensibilities of consumers on an individual level.

That said, I find myself getting unreasonably annoyed at certain commercials for technological products. There’s nothing particularly unique about these ad spots, I guess; they’re employing most of the same marketing strategies that have been around for decades.

A Gallery of Realistically Rendered Pokeballs

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Video Games

Usually when someone has a distinct obsession with the Pokemon series, they tend to focus on the creatures themselves. But today I’ve found a man who is determined to showcase their homes instead.

Artist Barry Wazzy has created a giant collection of “real life” Pokeballs which I believe are some combination of real objects and CGI. It’s more than just your red and white, Ultra and Master balls however. As you’ll see, he’s made them into a bona fide art form.

Check out the full and massive gallery below:

That Guy Actor of the Week: Billy Drago

Published by Nattyb under Columns

You’ll always know who Billy Drago is if you saw the movie The Untouchables.   He was one of the coolest assassins in movie history. Drago is well-known for his villainous parts (leading or supporting), and he is renowned for his rugged, yet scary looks and evil smile.

Bottom line.  He’s great at playing freaky parts.  He’s your ideal man for playing the guy you see walking on the street that you really don’t want any part of.   Amazingly he’s got 105 titles to his name which I had no idea of.

Other cool roles he played…well I don’t really know because 90% are B movies.  But trust me, you know this guy.   A cool clip of Drago after the jump…

Seven Amazing Drill Sergeants in Movies

Published by Nattyb under Lists,Movies

To my utter amazement, I cannot believe we’ve never done an article on drill sergeants in movies before.  This yet another type of character that we as civilians like to learn about through cinema.

You kind of wonder how hard these guys are on soldier in real life.   Movies always have their funny ways of emulating them. Some serious. Some comical.

But all in all I think we always have an interest in these characters.   Here are seven amazing drill sergeants in movies….

The Morning Link: Liam Neeson’s Silliest Looks

Published by Paul Tassi under Morning Link

He may be the biggest badass actor alive right now, and if you don’t believe that, watch The Grey, but he doesn’t always look so awesome. Over the years he’s had quite a number of truly ridiculous looks on film.

Go here to see them.
