A Great Collection of Wizard of Oz Fanart

Published by at 8:00 am under Images

I’m a little surprised that over the years more hasn’t been done with The Wizard of Oz franchise.  I mean yeah, Wicked is one of the biggest plays of all time but I’m referring to fan made stuff and just an overall buzz.   You know what I mean?  Like the kind of buzz that Star Trek always gets or Star Wars always gets.

I mean to this day video games, posters, you name it still exist for some franchises that ended already.   I guess it’s because Wizard of Oz never really followed up with much.

Anyway, if there are any theories please let me know.  In the meantime, here are some cool fan made Wizard of Oz themed pictures….

    It’s not fan art, but you can check out McFarlane’s Twisted Land of Oz figures here:

    Love the second one from the bottom. Could easily be made into a Saturday morning cartoon.

    There is an Oz movie coming out next year. A buddy of mine is working on it, actually.

    The Family Guy one is almost as awful as the show.

    @yautja

    Agreed. How do you manage to mess up every single face except Chris? That’s closer to the original pilot, where they looked like a fourth grader had drawn them, than the rest of the show.

    Actually, there were 14 oz books by baum and another 14 by ruth plumly thompson, as well as a vast assortment of others by various authors up to the present day. The simple problems and their simple solutions don’t play out on a grand scale like star wars or star trek, however. As a continuing series of saturday morning cartoons, it might work.
