Just Kidding, I Forgot the Greatest Deus Ex Video Ever

Published by at 2:00 pm under Video Games,Videos

Alright, so last Friday I wrote a post chronicling the greatest things I’d seen out of Deus Ex so far, and that included a number of Easter Eggs and hilarious videos from players.

Unfortunately, I discovered this video a day too late, but it’s so good, that I’m giving it its own post. Inspired by a conversation between the guards about how awful it would be to be killed by a vending machine, this player wanted to see how far he could take the concept, and proceeds to beat an entire level using the same drink dispensing device. My jaw dropped when he managed to clear out an entire room full of enemies in the final scene, and if you’ve played, you know how tough the part was with guns that actually shot bullets.

Check it out above, and if there’s a follow-up where he wins a boss fight doing this, I want to see it.

soundtrack is epic. but i guess he died a lot of times. too many cuts in it. but nevertheless a great idea^^

btw: i threw in 2 gas grenades when they were planning what to do. no shots fired, whole room down

I used gas in that last room as well…

Just hid in a vent and as they crowded round, gassed the hell out of them.

The great thing about this game, is that when you kill people in unusual ways, it feels like that’s what the game wants you to do… Where as in other games, it feels like you’re tricking it somehow.

I like hacking a turret then picking it up and wandering around the level with it. Occasionally chucking it into a room and walking away till it’s done. Pretty much completed whole levels that way.. (shame the boss fights make you leave everything at the door)
