8-Bit Art History

What would happen if classic pieces of art were re-imagined in 8-bit form? It’s a question I must admit I’ve never asked myself, but when I see it in action it does make for a pretty cool art project.
It’s from Aled Lewis, and he examines a number of classic paintings, turning them into adventure games in the style of Monkey Island and the like.
Check out his other pieces below, and I’ll update if he ends up coming out with any more. Any art enthusiasts out there have any special requests?

Nice find. DO you remember these point-and-click PC adventure games that the paintings are also based on? LucasArts was awesome. Monkey Island? I spent hours on that game. That’s when games made you think of all the potential that lay ahead. Now we’ve stalled.
