A Flowchart to Live By
Writing on the internet for a living, I have to deal with a fair amount of negative comments. Sometimes they’re good, like when people call me out on a shitty review which makes me try harder next time.
Sometimes, they’re freaking awful, where people display profound ignorance, are personally hateful, or willingly ignore facts. These types of comments I have no time for, and this flowchart describes their thought process in pretty accurate detail.
There have been so many times where I’ve started to write a huge response just to “prove someone wrong” on the internet, only to delete it because I remember there’s really no point, and it would be like shoveling sand in the desert.
As always, we welcome constructive criticism, but don’t tolerate dumbassery.
