The Historically Accurate Ninja Turtles

Published by at 3:00 pm under Images,Television

My first introduction to classic painters, like many of you I imagine, was through the Ninja Turtles who somehow adopted those names for their own. Why exactly they chose those names, I never figured out, but I’m guessing it had something to do with drugs (“they’re TURTLES that fight CRIME but they’re TEENAGERS and NINJAS and MUTANTS and we can name them after PAINTERS” “Cool idea bro!”).

In any case, artist SpaceCoyote (who I swear we’ve featured here before) decided to get all literal with it, and somehow putting the ACTUAL painters in the masks with the weapons is even MORE trippy than doing it with mutated giant turtles. This has to be a t-shirt somewhere.
