If there’s one movie from the 80s that I’m completely surprised hasn’t seen a remake, it’s gotta be Three O’Clock High. For all you young generation kids out there, please see this movie before it gets remade into one of the dumbest high school movies of all time. For the love of God, see this classic.
Here’s the quick synopsis….
A high school nerd, Jerry Mitchell ( Casey Siemaszko) is assigned to write a piece for the school paper about new boy Buddy Revell (Richard Tyson), who is rumored to be a psychopathic nutcase. When Jerry accidentally touches Buddy, he says that they must fight in the parking lot at 3pm. Jerry will just about do anything to avoid the confrontation.
In case you don’t remember Casey Siemaszko, he’s in like 600 80s movies and always plays a weakling type of character. And Tyson? Remember the bad guy in Kindergarten Cop? That’s Richard Tyson. It’s hilarious because Tyson looks at least 30 in this movie yet plays a high school bully.
In any event, the obstacles that Jerry has to overcome in this film are things that any high school kid can relate to. And watching his character transform from a weak little manager of a high school store to someone that is forced to confront his inner demons is not only motivating but it’s pretty hilarious. And seeing a “psychopath” as actually being a catalyst for this transformation is pretty neat too.
Check out the trailer after the jump…..
How have I not mentioned this movie on this site before? What is wrong with me? God I hate this stupid trailer music.
