Photo of the Week: That Just Kind of Sucks
In the past we’ve featured funny pictures of geeks who look like they’re nervous around hot girls. Today we’re featuring a geek that I for one just feel kind of bad for.
It’s not that I even want to make fun of this kid. I just want to understand his situation better. I mean it clearly looks like his buddies (who seem just as dorky as he) have decent looking dates.
Why this kid is alone scares me. And it should probably scare the school. I would imagine this kid is a candidate to shoot up the school, and not with just a plain old gaming prop either.
BTW, is that his sister on the right? She couldn’t get one of her friends to go with him?

If that is his sister on the right then they could have taken this picture before he picked up his date.
What a weird statement to make about the picture. Sad really — the original statement that is.
You say you “don’t want to make fun of him”, but then you go and say he’s probably a “candidate to shoot up the school”.
As a kid who’s had that said to him many times in high school, that kind of comment isn’t exactly “flattering”.
You say you want to “understand his situation,” how? By making a condescending statement about him, that he deserves your pity or sympathy?
I go to this site to check out images and articles about the entertainment world. Not to see you make some stupid comments about some “lonely dork” kid.

I didn’t even go to my prom. I hate that you’re pressured to feel that if you go stag, you’re a loser unless you reassure everyone “I’m going stag, everyone, don’t worry! I’m alone here by choice!” Ugh.
Maybe his also hot date is taking the picture? Or maybe he’s gay and his school won’t allow him to bring his boyfriend? Maybe his girlfriend died recently? Or maybe he just wants to go stag? Maybe he asked every girl he knows and they all turned him down but he still has the balls to show up? Or maybe he didn’t ask any of the girls he knows because he’s too shy? What exactly justifies public ridicule and humiliation of this kid? Post your own prom pictures, let’s see what a raging stud you were nattyb.
Wow, there are a lot of butthurt posters here. I guess the jokes are all fun and games until they strike a chord in your own lives, huh? That’s the thing about humor- everyone gets burned eventually, while someone else laughs about it.
