A Gallery of the Most Accurate Female Video Game Costumes
Alright, I’ve seen so many amazing examples of cosplay over the last year or two, I decided to put some of them into one master post. But as I don’t want an endlessly long gallery, I tried to restrict it with a few basic criteria: video game related and female. Any complaints?
As you’ll see in my title, this is not the “Hottest Video Game Cosplayers” as has been done (probably by us), but the “Most Accurate.” As it so happens, the two often go hand in hand, as there are very few female characters in games that anyone would consider unattractive. I picked each of these girls because even though many have tried to portray these specific characters, it takes a very specific look, and a hell of a talented costume designer to make sure they’re the absolute best, which I consider these selections to be. A professional photographer doesn’t hurt either.
Some of these we’ve featured here before with their own galleries, some are new finds I hadn’t see until today. I tried to cover every major video game female that came to mind, with a few supporting characters to boot, and if I missed one in particular let me know, and I’ll start a hunt.

I don’t think the Lara Croft one you posted counts since she was actually the official model for Tomb Raider: Underworld.
I think that these are all amazing costumes, but no-one really loves this stuff for the aesthetics.
If we’re honest, we’d all go for Ivy because if we asked nicely, and were really lucky, ending up with whoever that lady is means we’d never have to buy another pillow again for a very long time.

The Mass Effect costumes are amazing – especially the detail work on the Jack and Tali costumes.

Some of these are really good. Although I think the Lara Croft (think this is a model anyway) and Tifa ones are tacky. The Samus Aran and Zelda ones are awesome. Some of these are ‘professionals’ but I suppose they do count.
As for that that person who claims cosplay is liked for sexual gratification, you sir, are a moron. “Fatsby” indeed. You must have a very boring life.

Mirror’s Edge is hand’s down the best one up there.

Tifa looks damn hot. But I still feel that some of them are not close enough compared to the actual characters. But the costume that they wear are really accurate.

Just a correction: That Rikku cosplay is of X-2. If she were doing Final Fantasy X she’d look completely difference. Just a small difference in wording, but a huge difference in game.
I wish women weren’t so overly sexual in video games… Some of the outfits are just rediculous.
Perhaps one day game designers will realise not only men need armour.
Ivy is hands down the sexiest up there.
I see no Photoshopping here, with the exception of Miranda’s arm, which may or may not be Shopped. Photo effects and filters don’t count as Photoshopping, that’s just standard editing.
YES, Raiden is a guy. But THAT Raiden is hott, while a guy isn’t. Quit yer’ bitchin.
I just wanted to point out that this gallary only has one Asian cosplayer in it (Tifa) so I would have named it the best looking non-asian cosplayers. A lot of people claim on Japanese can do great cosplay, but this gallary proves otherwise.
I think there’s an interesting contrast here between the nintendo characters and most of the other characters.
