Ken Jeong’s Awesome, Real CPR Commercial
What’s the best way to teach people to save lives? Hire Ken Jeong and some hot chicks to instruct. I though this commercial was a joke for about 95% of it, until I saw the American Heart Association logo at the end. And you know what? It worked, I will now never forget that I should pump someone’s chest to the beat of staying alive. Wait, you don’t give people mouth to mouth anymore in CPR? Is that only for drowning?
It’s also funny because of what happened to Jeong in The Hangover Part II. Step 2 of proper CPR, do not put a heart attack victim in a locked ice box. I’ll try to remember that one as well.

I found Dr. Ken to be pretty annoying in this clip, but as you say ill never forget to do how to do compression on CPR. and they started doing CPR this way because it 1.) the breaths-compression cycle changes and many people forget it (i think its 2 breaths – 15 Compressions) 2.) People dont readily carry mouth barriers so they are hesitant to provide breaths, and 3.) i think theyve found that keeping the blood circulating O2 is much more important than gas exchange in the time it should normally take EMS to arrive.
This maybe a dumb question, but when do you give someone CPR? Is it when someone stops breathing or when someone doesn’t have a pulse? Or is this some kind of 2 for the price of one deals?
It totally makes sense when you consider that “Dr. Ken” is actually a legit doctor. He quit doctoring to become an actor.
What sylkmatic said is mostly correct. I just finished my CPR training last week. The only thing different is at the moment it is 2 breaths and 30 compressions.
@ drester cpr is for when they are not breathing and theres no pulse. CPR is used to pump the heart doing it on someone with a pulse could kill them.
Isn’t that Adam from Mythbusters on that couch?
Wait, what? You can kill someone with CPR? Better check twice then. Did a little research and found out that you should do compressions in cases like the video where someone gets a stroke or something like that. In case of a drowning you should do both compressions and mouth to mouth(30 vs 2).
