The Hardest LA Noire Case Ever

Published by at 3:00 pm under Images,Video Games

God damn it Greg Grunberg! This game is hard enough already without me having to reload it 50 extra times to get these questions right.

But seriously, this was one of my biggest gripes with LA Noire. It was unreasonably easy to tell if people were telling the truth or lying, as if they didn’t move at all, they were legit, if they did, their pants were indeed on fire.

Rather, the hardest part was distinguishing between “Doubt” and “Lie” and they’re both practically the same damn thing, only one requires you to have evidence and it’s rarely clear what clue you need to move forward.

As for this guy? I”d probably just say f*ck it and go get a donut.

Update: Apparently there are a more of these at Dorkly. Very funny.

Here’s some advice regarding doubting and lying: Whenever you are interrogating, always pick lie first. Your character will always say something accusatory to the person in question, and then it’ll ask you for evidence. Sometimes your character will drop hints of what evidence contradicts his lie, even if you didn’t know was actually part of the question. If you end up not having that peice of evidence, just hit the circle button, and doubt him. I found this helpful when the better actors have smaller nuances between lying and doubting that I cant pick up (when the actors suck, their lies are obvious, which I find hilarious).

I found this very helpful for most cases, when I ask a question and the interrogated character goes on this long rant about his outrage in me asking him or her that question, and then I have no idea how this links to any of my evidence.

But yeah, Greg Grunberg is one lying son of a bitch in this game. I wish I could run him over with my Duesenberg, GTA style.

I think that may actually be the same actor. I’m sure he did the voice acting and facial … gesture… capture… I have no idea what that’s called. Just how Cole Phelps is the guy from Mad Men, etc.

Yeah, it’s absolutely the same guy; this game has tons of real actors in it.

And he lied his ass off for about 20 questions and the game failed me when I put him in prison.
