A long time ago, a “Sonic speedrun” would have seemed to be sort of a redundant statement, as the whole game is supposed to revolve around going fast.

But the years went by, and most Sonic games stopped being good, and subsequently people stopped trying to be good AT them. Well, almost everyone.

What you see above is a “professional” speed run that starts off impressive, but blasts into a stratosphere of ridiculousness pretty quickly. Granted it’s not going to make me go play a Sonic title again, but it’s still pretty cool to witness.
