Minecraft’s Studio Ghibli World Puts All Other Creations to Shame

Published by at 2:00 pm under Video Games,Videos

I’ve sort of dismissed Minecraft despite its rising popularity, because I never really saw the point. But as I see creation after wondrous creation fashioned in the game, I’m pretty sure they could use this as a teaching tool in architectural school.

I have come across some impressive creations in the game before, be they Minecraft Planet Earth or an exact scale replica of the Starship Enterprise, but here, Ghibli World is now the most impressive thing I’ve seen in the game.

It takes the sort of worlds you see in Hayao Miyazaki films and brings it to life. Well er, brings it blocky, digital format at least. The level of detail and the scope of these areas is mind boggling, and I have to wonder how long this all took to build. Whoever did it, thanks for your effort, as we can condense hundreds of hours of your work into one three minute YouTube video.

Excuse me, I need to go watch all of Ghibli’s films again.

And does anyone know if anyone has created an “Avatar: The Last Airbender” world in Minecraft? Now THAT’S one that I’d like to see…
