A New Level of Nerd Proposal
Depending on your romantic sensibilities, you’ll probably think this is the cutest or lamest thing you’ve ever seen. I’m currently kind of hovering in the middle..
This is how a redditor allegedly proposed to his girlfriend, but it could easily be a Karma ploy. But knowing that community, it’s probably the real thing.
If you are (or were theoretically) a girl, would you be all about this? Is this the good kind of nerdy or the “wow, what am I getting myself into” version?

At least he uses that book for something useful..
I think it’s sweet… if the girl was into harry potter, she’d melt.
Very clever way to do it at least.
If I were a girl I’d hold him to that unbreakable vow. Break it and die!
I proposed as casually as I can, and thou she said yes, the first thing she said is “Oh damm”. I should do a thing like the book, I suppose. Being lame is so forgiven in this situation.
Nice touch with the unbreakable vow. Kinda creepy once you know whate de vow does.
If, for whatever reason, a girl ends up proposing to me instead of the other way around, she sure as hell better do it this way.
My girlfriend would love this… I do not.
Pfff, he didn’t even use the hardcover version.
I love it (though being a total HP nerd and book lover, I have to note that seeing the pages cut out like that made me sad). But yeah. Very cute and pretty clever.
I’d be happy if he didn’t use MY book to do it. .___. book sacrilege.
But I’d giggle like mad at his proposal. (XD Harry Potter= my first fandom. X3)
I was planning to do that but with lord of the rings
I thought your love of Pokémon was the saddest thing I had to endure by coming to this website, but you’ve proved me wrong! Well done.
This has got to be the lamest thing I’ve ever seen..any girl who says yes is only saying yes because of the chemical called love clouding her senses. What a shitty way to propose.
I really hope he used her book, and she bollocked him for it.
Least he didn’t waste a good book, anyway..though it looks like the book cost more than the ring.
I’m hoping this is a fake, anyway.
Yo Johnny boy….. please do us all a favor…. and SHUT THE F#@K up lmao…. sorry but it had to be said
.
For one… the point wasn’t what type of book was used or what genre its listed under, or even who or what the books about. The point dear sir is that he paid attention to what SHE likes…. its obveus that she’s into to harry potter, and the fact that he paid attention to that shows that he’s at least listened well enough to know her fav books lol
So all in all a pretty sweet way of proposing …. personaly I’d of gone with a book of poetry but to each there own
And for two…. wtf’s wrong with Pokémon? as a video game junkie I resent that X(
I can appreciate the thought that went into it but I would be PISSED that he defaced a book like that.
Then again, if it was my boyfriend he’d know better so to each his own I guess.
Hehe… I wouldn’t hurt a book even for my girl
OHMYGOD! ITS SO CUTE! I’d melt! …exept for th fact the book is now ruined

If a guy proposed to me that way, I’d punch him in the face and bitch at him for destroying a perfectly good book.
