It’s Hard to Believe Duke Nukem Forever is Really Happening at Last

It’s been twelve years in the making, and some believed it would never happen, but it seems that Duke Nukem Forever is finally more than just a fantasy.

This is the debut, official-ist trailer for the title yet, and I have to say, it looks pretty awesome. The crude humor is still fully intact, and it’s nice the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. This could have been a “gritty, dark” Deus Ex reboot, but thankfully they’ve kept the tone consistent.

Check it out above, and start counting down to May 6th.

    I love how they have mixed in the time it’s taken for the game to be made. High expectations for this Duke title.

    hey, remember the time Duke was just a rip-off of Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy?

    @MGF Hey remember when all of Duke’s dialog was taken from hollywood action movies? Because I’ve noticed that concidering he says quotes from Evil Dead, Die Hard, Terminator ect.

    PS you aren’t bright Duke was meant to be a comical version of every action hero

    This game has been in the burner for way too long. I hope it’s not overcooked. This game better control like butter and have a silky smooth skin

    @catface
    i wasn’t acting like duke being a rip-off was some huge revelation. i just think he sucks. or, at least, he has in the past. maybe this game will convert me into a duke fan. only time will tell.

    I’m pretty confident with Gearbox’s handling of this at least after how awesome Borderlands was. This game’s gonna be pretty good for all the craziness of it.

    @Venro
    Borderlands is awesome, but didn’t they only buy Duke, not make it?

    Anyone else disapointed with Lil’ Wayne? Nothing good since he came out. xom The method has been carefully designed to protect the author from any possible criticism.

    That was the best game trailer ever

  • Steve

    I’ll wait until it’s in the bargain bin to buy it.

    It’s been twelve years, so I guess I stopped caring about nine years ago.

    These blogs (this one uses mag short for an actual magazine lol) embed a YouTube video, write about 90 words, and that makes it worthy of digg? Sad.

    Right. So Duke Nukem isn’t vaporware anymore because someone says they are going to release it? Really?

    Granted, being owned by a new company and having a release date is something, but Duke Nukem trailers and release dates are not new. Duke Nukem has had a moving release many times over the years, and will continue to have one for many years to come. It has had about a dozen or so trailers in the past decade, and I’m sure they will create more.

    Duke Nukem having a trailer and a release date does not mean it is really happening. You must be confused because Duke Nukem has always been in it’s own category regarding ridiculous vaporware, and now it has almost been upgraded to regular vaporware, except it is still Duke Nukem Forever.
