The Real Mario and Luigi?

Published by Nattyb under Images

Whenever you see a video game character match as good as this one it’s really your responsibility to get it up on your site.

What can I say?  As long as there are look-alike pictures out there we’re going to keep posting them.  And this has to be the best one so far.

Any objections?

11 Celebrities From High School Until Now

Published by Nattyb under Images

I’m pretty sure I’ll always have an interest in seeing certain celebrities when they were young.  It’s about the only time you can see them when they’re not all dolled up and “artificial.”

And honestly it’s kind of difficult to think of these folks as even being “human” if you know what I mean.  Like it’s hard to realize that they had pimples, were nervous to date members of the opposite sex, and well…went through the same stuff most of us did.

But they all have done it.  Now it’s just fun to look at them….

The Morning Link: The 11 Best New Years Eve Movies

Published by Paul Tassi under Morning Link

Right now they’re making a movie called “New Years Eve” where every actor under the sun gets together to try and recreate Love Actually. Since Valentine’s Day didn’t work out, this must, right?

Go here to see other actually good movies based around New Years Eve.

A Link to the Future

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Video Games

It’s one of those jokes that when you see it you go, “How has no one thought of that until now?”

This “Link to the Future” design definitely looks like it’s from a t-shirt, but through endless amounts of image searching, I cannot seem to locate it. But it’s probably one of those Threadless “you must buy this in the next 45 minutes or we’ll burn the design” deals anyway.

I have to say, a badass sports car is a far cooler time traveling device than a fruity flute. Just kidding, I love Ocarina tunes. I’ve had Epona’s Song stuck in my head for years.

Winning at Mario Party by Doing Nothing

Published by Paul Tassi under Video Games,Videos

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6PxRwgjzZw

Friends of mine will know my severe distaste for all the Mario Party games, which I find to be exercises in stupidity and blind luck, and the worst kind of childish games.

Well, to further prove my point, there’s this video, which has a player (Luigi) doing absolutely nothing and winning a variety of Mario Party 2 minigames against the computers. Granted they’re set to easy, meaning my solar powered calculator has 10x the brainpower they do, but still, ridiculous.

Check it out above, and tell my why there’s an arbitrary star for whoever landed on the most red space. Idiocy.

A Very Fragile Gundam Indeed

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Oddly Enough

I don’t know what possesses someone to make an incredibly complex model of a Gundam completely out of cardboard, but the desire gripped someone, and here we are.

It’s masterfully done, but swapping out metal armor for something that can be annihilated by rain isn’t the most practical material choice. But hey, you use what you have I guess.

This may be the stupidest question ever, but what the hell IS Gundam? I’ve been hearing about it for years, yet I don’t know when it started, or even if it began as a TV show, comic or video game. Any fans out there care to enlighten me?

My Top Ten Movies of 2010

Published by Paul Tassi under Lists,Movies

Well the year is drawing to a close, and I’ve just finished up the last few movies I thought I needed to see before compiling my annual top ten of the year list. Despite starting out incredibly slow, things picked up throughout the year, and though most blockbuster attempts have gone bust this year, this fall brought us a fresh crop of quality films that is going to make for a fantastic award season.

There were so many movies I enjoyed this year, that I wanted to actually bump the list out to fifteen, and so I have five bonus picks at the end there. My choices are mostly in line with what most critics have said are the best films of the year, but I’m not doing it to fit in, rather these are genuinely amazing films, and any you haven’t seen I highly advise you to check out as soon as you can.

Check out my picks below, and feel free to give me your own in the comments.

Debate of the Day: What are You Most Looking Forward to in 2011?

As the year draws to a close, I thought it the most appropriate time to ask the question, what are you most looking forward to next year?

Now, I don’t mean your wedding or the birth of your kid, rather we’re focusing on media here as we tend to do, so I’m looking for your most anticipated movies, TV shows and video games of the upcoming year.

Movies it’s easiest to say. There are huge titles like Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern and The Hangover 2 on the way, hyped of for months and years beforehand. Video games the field is a bit more narrow, as I can really only think of Elder Scrolls V and Mass Effect 3 off the top of my head, though between those two I’ll sink 300 hours in right there. TV? I’m wishing a number of my shows would come back, Dexter, Mad Men, Walking Dead, Parks and Recreation and the like. But I can’t say I’m excited for anything I haven’t seen yet, though pilot season is a long way off.

What about you? What can’t you wait for that will make its debut in 2011?

A Gallery of Great Media Art from Martin Ansin

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Movies

This is a really excellent gallery of art from Uruguayan illustrator Martin Ansin, whose work you’ve likely seen in magazines and in a few movie posters recently. He’s got a very unique style that blends realism and animation, and his collection of pop culture prints are worth looking at.

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a store where you might be able to buy any of these as prints, but perhaps with enough support via posts like this, he’ll open up a store at some point. I can think of a few people I know who’d love that Katy Perry one.

Check out his work below:
