A Gallery of Pokemon Reimagined
A little while ago, I brought you a gallery the claimed I’d found the “best Pokemon art I’ve ever seen,” and I still stand by that claim as those are exceptionally well done.
Well today, I’ve found a batch of pictures that gives those a run for their money. It’s from DeviantArtist SoupandButter, who decided it would be prudent to “reimagine” Pokemon in a more realistic, but still fantastical fashion.
I really like what he’s come up with here. Ranging from badass to disturbing to almost…tragic, these weird and wild creatures capture what the series could look like in a more adult universe, a place I’ve always wished it could go. Check them out below:

The Ghastly looks pretty creepy. My favorite one is Lickitung

if Pokemon was done in this art style, I might have watched it instead of laughing at all the dorks trading pokemon cards at my school…. good memories…
I hope he does all of the Pokemon, even the new batch coming soon. A lot of them are disturbing. My favorite is the Ghastly. It’s perfect, and clearly ghost Pokemon are this artist’s style. (Also, is it too soon to say that the Eevee looks like Zelda Rubinstein? Well, too bad; it does.)
There’s no ‘h’ in Gastly…

The Arcanine, Hauntar and Nidoqueen were pretty badass.
The rest were just fuckin’ Disturbing.

I enjoyed the realism in each piece! Each has its own elements of intrigue! I especially enjoyed the gastly piece – I would not want to meet that in the dark!
