Meet SNL’s New Obama, Jay Pharoah
This is Jay Pharoah, reported to be the latest recruit for SNL, and more importantly, their new Barack Obama.
I guess they got tired of putting Fred Armisten in blackface, and figured there were probably enough black comedians out there who could do the job.
His Obama impression is rather good, and it starts at 6:15 in the clip above. But he’s not being recruited just for that, he’s also got an entire stable of impressions of both black and white actors and musicians alike. Though I kind of doubt they’ll be having him play Owen Wilson on the show any time soon. He’s clearly too tall.

His Obama impersonation is okay, but I must say his Will Smith is spot on.
I’m going to sound really nitpicky here but his christopher walken sucks and his own wilson sounds like jay baruschel. Donald glover’s barack obama is way better than this guys.

But kudos for more ‘color’ on the show. Denzel was spot on though.
His jay z is the best jay z impression ive seen. Then again it is the only one ive seen…
This guy is awful. I couldn’t stop cringing at these impressions. Anybody who thinks this guy is good needs to go look up people who can do these impressions. You want Walken or Keitel and even Colin quinn go check out Jay Mohr. There is even some stand up who does a perfect Denzel on youtube. Lorne needs to retire if this is what he considers funny.

I have to admit, some were cringe worthy. But you got to admit, the Will Smith, DMX and Bernie Mac were good. This guy is waaay too dark to play Obama on SNL.
This guy is awful,I cringed the whole time.I had to turn it off near the end ,I had too much.
This was great! The Bernie Mac, Will Smith, 50 Cent… he was amazing.. I cant wait to see what he does in SNL
