If you’re around my age, you probably remember being blown away by the graphics for Nintendo games like Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Battletoads.  Now, of course, they’re crude and pathetic, but back then they were top-of-the-line.  Technology has advanced quite a bit since then, and while breaking down the code of the Unreal Engine is an impossible task for the lay person, it doesn’t take too much to create 8-bit video games.  Be it through fandom, a sense of nostalgia, or simply boredom, many movies, modern video games, and even music videos have been given the 8-bit treatment.  Hopefully, you don’t have to be born in my generation to appreciate it.  Below, check out 10 videos of movies, modern games, and a pretty awesome music video re-imagined as 8-bit classics.

The Expendables

Twilight: Eclipse

Starcraft

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

Left 4 Dead

Bayonetta

Thriller

The Dark Knight

Ocarina of Time

Team Fortress 2
