15 Monsters That Would Only Be Found in Nightmares
I really didn’t know any other way to title this article but I think the “nightmares” line is probably the most accurate one I could think of. And here’s the reasoning behind it. Have you ever had a dream where a crazy monster crept in? A monster that you had never seen in a movie or in a book.
It was a creature that was completely new, scary, ugly, and powerful. And when you wake up you can kind of picture it but realize that it’s totally original and not something that you can readily find.
I feel like the people who conjured up these monsters must have had direct access to nightmares of other human beings. I don’t know. Just check out these 15 pictures and you’ll know what I mean.

#3 and 9 are the only ones that look scary to me. 11 and 12 looks great.

A lot of these are great, but there are a few that aren’t original. I see Godzilla, Frankenstein’s Monster and Cthulhu there. I guess they came out of somebody’s nightmares at some point.
Speaking from experience, i think it’s pretty easy to think up stuff like this. It’s the skill with which it has been illustrated that is truly impressed. Then again, i AM lord Blutwald of the Shadow Realm of the Twisted Inner Eye, so..
I’m surprised none of them looked like spiders…I was expecting more of that.

I agree with Torint- all excellent pictures, but about 1/2 are Lovecraft creatures. And for some reason the big floaty frogs remind me of a Heinlein story(?). I’d love to have a print of the dwarf Cthulhu, he’s so cute! Reminds me of Son of Godzilla.
