This is the Reason I Avoid the Food Network

Literally as we speak my wife is watching the Food Network and guess who’s on?  It’s Guy Fieri!  Yahoo! Look I don’t want to sugar coat this but let’s face it.  Do you really want to take cooking advice from this guy?  I don’t care how passionate he is about food.  And honestly folks, in general  I’m a pretty tolerant guy of most any person but this just doesn’t fit.

This is the guy I want to watch make food?  This is a guy (no pun intended) I want to see be successful?  I mean this guy would be annoying enough as it is as a cast member of The Real World let alone having his own cooking show.  Oh and P.S. it ain’t just a show.  This guy is becoming a brand and I’m becoming scared.

It’s a shame too because I love food but when I see Guy, I don’t walk, I run.  Come on Guy!

He’s the reason I stopped wearing bowling shirts…

Man Guy just came to this restaurant by my house, and Im so PISSED because now its going to be packed.

But I can’t stand to watch him stuff his face. Sweating all into the batter of whatever food is being prepared.

Screaming. Acting insane… Its too damn much.

I’ve always disliked this guy! Finally…someone else as well.

I like Guy. That is all.

When I realized that this guy has three different colors of hair on his head I gave up on him.

Like Chrystani’s experience, Guy came to a restaurant in my hood and now it’s constantly packed.

Adam Richman went to the same restaurant a few weeks later. It’s probably due to get worse – The show is on tonight at 9 on Man V Food (Cleveland).

Yeah screw that guy for helping out establishments by showcasing them on his show. They don’t deserve the influx of business that is garnered through this.

Haters. This guy is a tool but its his shtick. What do you want out of your cooking show hosts? Rachel Ray or Julia Childs? Get a grip.

On a somewhat unrelated side note, this kinda speaks to the role reversals going on in society. A male is the hottest food network personality, women are the prime consumers of home improvement shows. Weird.

Yea its his schtick. But watching mayo drip from the corners of his mouth is gross.

But hey, if someone paid me to eat and look nasty doing it, I’d be all over it.

I don’t watch much Food Network but I do like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (even tho they never come to Canada).

From what I have noticed at least he EATS the food where most times the women nibble a tiny bit and that makes me mad…well except that crazy Paula Dean lady who uses pounds of butter in absolutely everything.

Man vs. Food > Anything that needs a bottle of bleach to eat.

Man v food does trump all.

For some reason my girlfriend doesn’t want to punch babies when this guy is on. It’s odd because were usually in total agreement when it comes to Food Networks piss poor “talent”.

Anthony Bourdain, in addition to having an awesome show, distilled my feelings for the Food Network perfectly:
    http://blog.ruhlman.com/2007/02/guest_blogging_.html

That was written pre Guy Fieri but entertaining nonetheless.

yeah he doesn’t actually prepare the food himself, plus if you are going to diners, drive ins, and dives, don’t expect it to be the cleanest, use gloves for everything type of place. I work at a pizza place, I breathe on the pizza when I take it out the oven, not on purpose but my face is over it while I’m cutting it, so people should stop eating pizza? what do you think about the people MAKING the pizza? they aren’t required to wear gloves…

also if you don’t wanna see people having mayo come out of the sides of their mouths, don’t watch Food Network, one of my favorite shows on Travel channel is a dude who goes around trying food challenges, ain’t pretty watching him eat it, but it’s a cool concept for a show so I watch it.

I also happen to think his loud personality fits very well for the type of show it is. He loves food, so he goes around the country finding what he thinks is the best.

I like the Food Network and watch several shows on it but I cannot stand this douche. I’ve never wanted to punch someone in the face more than him.

I stopped watching Food Network when they decided to do Iron Chef America. Barf.

Say what you will about Guy Fieri but Alton Brown is awesome. Good eats is like Bill Nye but with food. If you’re not watching it you are missing out. With the science, pop culture references and all that delicious looking food you can’t go wrong

I simply cannot STAND this Guy! And he’s always on nowadays for Pete’s sakes!! At last somebody who shares my views.

I like most of the shows on FN. But I removed the Food Network from my cable package because of the guy. Annoying beyond description. Totally agree, he sucks. When they get rid of him, I will re-subscribe to the Food Network. That’s how bad he is.

This guy is a disgrace to humanity…

  20. Marcuson 29 Feb 2012 at 3:28 pm

Every time I see this douche, it saddens me for the future of our country.. If a French or German chef saw this dude they would bust their intestines open with laughter.. A frickin’ Sudanese chef would consider Fieri a disgrace to the culinary world.. If Snooki grew a pair of balls and had had a chef knife her name would be Guy Fieri… Sadly, America’s love for irritating douchebags and Superbowl snacks is going to make this underachieving shlub a millionaire..
