Everyone had something they were really into when they were a kid.  I was definitely into G.I. Joe, as well as Transformers and M.A.S.K.  But nothing captivated me like He-Man and The Masters of the Universe.  In all honestly, aside from maybe baseball cards, nothing even came close.  I still think the whole Masters of the Universe concept and characters are pretty sweet, and I always get excited when I read rumors about a Masters of the Universe movie.

Admittedly, The Masters of the Universe seems – visually, at least – a little bit dated.  I’ve created a gallery of fan art that re-imagines many of the characters, making them appear fresh and totally bad ass.  I’m not exaggerating when I say that the first picture after the jump is one of the coolest I’ve seen in a long time.  So much, in fact, that I’ve made it my laptop wallpaper.   Enjoy the gallery.
