10 Great Pool Scenes in Movies

There are loads of “scene enhancers” out there that we kind of take for granted or almost don’t even realize are going on. By simply putting a group in a nightclub it might do something to a scene. By simply adding the effect of rain it might elicit a completely different emotional response than a sunny day. These obvious yet smart effects in a movie can be the difference maker in certain scenes.
The “prop” I will focus on today will be the pool. A pool can be great for just about anything. Putting a terd in one. Having a guy do a funny dive in one. Using the water for sex appeal. It’s almost endless. Bottom line? Pools are awesome.
And here’s a look at 10 great pool scenes in movies
“I am a Golden God” – Almost Famous
“I’m on drugs!”
Caddyshack Employee Pool Day
Kenny Loggins is the man. How awesome was his music back in the 80s? Seriously does it get any better than that?
The Graduate
So somber yet so good. What a classic.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Anyone who doesn’t know or love this scene deserves to be shot. Not so fast! Of course we can’t show it all here but you get the idea.
Wild Things Kissing Scene (A little NSFW)
This might be one of the best scenes in any movie ever.
Alligator – Eaten Alive in the Pool
I had to throw something dumb like this in there.
Marilyn Monroe Something’s Got to Give
Classic. This is when people were questioning Monroe’s body. Uh, questions answered. “Come on in! The water’s so refreshing!”
Meet the Parents Volleyball Scene
It’s a shame that girl actually passed away in real life. Bot I’ll never forget the first time I saw this movie. Every scene was awesome and this one is no exception.
National Lampoons Vacation
This is Crazy! This is Crazy! This is Crazy!
The Triply Lindy – Back to School
You can’t have a list like this without the Triple Lindy!

I know it’s a short pool scene but I love Cannonball! from Anchorman =)
If we’re talking Pool Scenes involving Will Ferrel Cheryl, then I think Old School where he gets hit with the dart is clearly the choice.
Or if we’re talking cannonball scenes, how about Sandlot?
Sorry, Natty, I usually don’t like to be the dude who names all the faults of a list, but this time I’m just going along with the conversation. Please excuse my douchiness.
ferris buellers day off?
@like a boss
ferris bueller youre my hero
The Great Gatsby has a solid one as well.
The best pool scene is the end scene of “Låt den rätte komma in”!
Cool idea for a list, btw.
Other than the above I can only think of scenes from horror movies. And there is one longer pool scene in Garden State.
Most of these are pretty classic, I’ll give you that. But what about Tommy Boy?
“Richard, who’s your favourite little rascal – Alfalfa? Or is it Spanky? Sinner…”
Great idea for a list. I would have included the pool party from Nightmare on Elm Street 2, but that’s because I’m a weirdo.
Really? You didn’t think to put in the pool scene from Sandlot into this? It’s easily the best movie pool scene ever.
What about The Big Lebowski?
“Bunny Lebowski: I’ll suck your cock for a thousand dollars.
Brandt: Ah hahahahaha! Wonderful woman. We’re all, we’re all very fond of her. Very free-spirited.
Bunny Lebowski: Brandt can’t watch, though, or he has to pay a hundred.
Brandt: Ah haha. That’s marvelous.
The Dude: Uh, I’m just gonna go find a cash machine. ”
Love it.
You need to include BILLY. MADISON.
