Green Video Games

As video games have evolved over the years, now to the point of practically being “real,” we must pay attention to some of the details of what these games might be doing.  I mean we’re talking ultra violence these days with gun shots, tons of explosions and a hell of a lot of fighting.  But do these games ever stop to think about the environment?

Um, I guess not.  Though, and no offense to the EPA here, I can’t exactly envision too many enlightening “Green” games can you?  I mean it would look a little funny if in Call of Duty, soldiers were marching down the street being keenly aware of all the Spruce trees they might rough up if they destroyed a certain building.

Nevertheless, perhaps we should created a green genre of video game.  Luckily for us, some folks had a crack at it.  Here are 15 video games gone green….

Thanks to the Something Awful members for these

In the 15 games gone green I thought that the name spoofs were hilarious. As a routine player for many of these games I can see where environmentalism can intertwine into these games as a whole. For instance, some games that caught my attention include, Red Dead Redemption Center, Fuel Efficacy 3, and Grand Walk in the Park all looked hilarious. I felt that each of the covers were very comical and will be showing my friends these very funny twists on video games. I enjoyed the Cambela’s hunting game twist because he is protecting animals and it looks hilarious.

These games should be interesting if they ever came out but it’s absurd to think putting green in a game will change anything about the way people think. I’m fine with propaganda when it has good intentions but nothing more can really change unless we stop playing for violence.
