The Best 80s Cartoon Theme Songs Played on the Guitar

Back when this site was just starting out, I posted what I thought were the 10 best cartoon theme songs from the 1980s (along with a bunch of crude jokes).  They sure don’t make ‘em like they used to and although I don’t watch Saturday morning cartoons anymore (do they still air Saturday morning cartoons?  I wonder.), I can safely say that if any theme song was as catchy as the one to the Gummi Bears, I’ve had heard it by now.

It turns out that I’m not the only person who still gets excited when they hear the first few notes of Inspector Gadget.  Many fans of the 80s cartoon theme songs have learned to play said songs on the guitar, sometimes injecting their own personal style.  Still, the songs are instantly recognizable and sound great.  You can check out the best 80s cartoon theme songs played on the guitar below.

The Smurfs

Inspector Gadget

Ducktales

Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers

Alvin & The Chipmunks

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Muppet Babies

Jem

Gummi Bears

This isn’t a cartoon from the 80′s but it’s Metroid, so I’m posting it anyway. If you haven’t heard it before, it’s pretty awesome, give it a listen!

And not just Metroid, METAL METROID!!!
