The NES Lives in an Awesome Wii Skin

I’m pretty sure this is just a photoshop project rather than an actual mod, but it’s really cool to see nonetheless. DeviantArtist DarkTwist made up this skin for the Wii which makes it over into a far better Nintendo system, the NES.

Really, it is kind of sad to see Nintendo come from such a great history and slowly become the death of video gaming. Don’t get my wrong, there are a few fun Wii games, but for the most part, the system is flooded with absolutely garbage games, and it lacks the processing power to play any of the “new classics” that populate the PS3 and 360.

Pick it up Nintendo, we’re counting on you.

i would strongly disagree, i actually really enjoy the wii. i dont see how a system that is enjoyed by many many people could be the death of video games. its not meant to be a hard core gaming machine, but there is enough room in the market for a machine built for casual gamers, isnt there?

You dont need processing power to make a good game. Nuff said.

You are really too harsh on the Wii. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I love my Wii as much as my 360, and though there is a definite and disappointing lack of mature games on the console, I am still glad to see that Nintendo is still doing what they’ve always done: make games that I’d let my kids play, and do something that throws the industry a curve. Not to mention that they’ve kept it accessibly affordable. My 360′s graphics are starting to get squirrely after fifteen minutes of graphically-intensive gaming, and I flat out can’t afford a comparable new one (4GB is *not* comparable).
