Microsoft Sure Knows Targeted Advertising
How do you sell software in the most tech-heavy country in the entire world? Why, have a cute animated girl do it for you of course. Yes, Microsoft’s new Windows 7 push in Japan is led by a 2D blue-haired girl, and they’re banking on her to swoon the tech savy population of the country to upgrade to the new operating system.
I honestly, think it’s a clever bit of advertising, though I am a bit disconcerted by her rainbow colored eyes, and the fact that the commercial opens with something close to a Hentai upskirt shot. But hey, they sell sex dolls in vending machines over there don’t they?

This is sad and awesome at the same time… Japan is going to doom us all with a matrix like program in the future.
The “rainbow colors” are the Microsoft Windows Colors. Its a kind of symbol thingy done there. I am wondering how japans women react on such commercials. Here in Germany the commercial would be banned within seconds.
