12 Comic Actors’ Stand-Up from Way Back When

Before they got their big breaks in various movies and TV shows, many of today’s best comedy actors were just regular guys doing the stand-up circuit, trying to get noticed like everyone else.
I’ve searched around the internet to find some early stand-up performances from some of today’s most successful comic actors before they hit it big. Some are funny back then, some definitely needed some time to evolve.
Check the performances out below:
1. Jerry Seinfeld
His first HBO appearance in 1981.
2. Adam Sandler
I’m pretty sure they used this footage in Funny People.
3. Seth Rogen
Holy crap, he’s anorexic!
4. Chris Tucker
Because I couldn’t find any very old Chris Rock stand-up.
5. Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey greatless impresses Letterman in 1991.
6. Ellen Degeneres
Pre-(open) lesbianism, with long hair.
7. Zack Galifianakis
Not that old (2007), but still before The Hangover.
8. Bill Maher
I’ve never been a huge fan, but he has his moments.
9. Jon Stewart
I’m not sure if he was hosting the Daily Show here in ’96, but he’s certainly political.
10. Dave Chappelle
Pretty old, definitely pre-Chappelle’s Show.
11. Sarah Silverman

This is from ’92. Man, she’s aged well.
12. Simon Pegg

I didn’t realize he did stand-up, but I should have guessed.
