A Collection of Absurd Wipeouts in Skate
Usually this would be a post where I’d throw up fifteen videos about all the various ways you can destroy yourself in Skate, but lucky for me, some fortunate soul has done the heavily lifting and put them all in one video for me.
Now, Skate is a game that unlike Tony Hawk, promises to show “real” skateboarding, so you won’t see Spider-man doing ten minute long grinds on the Golden Gate Bridge. But judging from this video, I’m not sure if Skate has the world’s best or worst physics engine. The ragdoll animations are impressive most of the time, but on many occasions, it’s an absolute mystery why the hell both the character and the board do what they do.
Check out the video collection above, which “realistic” or not, is good for a laugh. My favorite pieces have to be the basketball dunk or the bench plop. You’ll see what I mean.

It looks like the point of this game is to come up with the most creative ways possible for your skater to injure or kill himself. Seems like fun.
If stuff like this happens all the time I think I need to play this game.
Methinks there may be a bug or 2 in the game that needs to be ironed out. Though skating down Hoover Dam looked pretty neat.
What’s with the bouncing people?
