25 Rare Photos of Celebrities

Rare Celebrity Photos

Coppola

In the same fashion as looking at old pictures of yourself and saying “I can’t believe that was me,” the same rings true when looking at pictures of celebrities.  While we don’t literally know these people we have been following their careers over the years and despite not having personal relationships with them, we somehow feel bad when they do, and happy when they do.  The point is, since they are so public, at times it feels like we actually do know these people.

So if I were to show you old pictures of me you probably wouldn’t react all that much.  However, the photos I’m about to share are pretty damned cool if I do say so myself.

Check out these 25 rare photos of celebrities

A lot of these pictures blew my mind. Especially love the one of Brando.

  2. zomgmouseon 29 Mar 2010 at 1:34 pm

The JFK/Marilyn one was actually proven to be a fake, somewhere, sometime.

  3. Berton 29 Mar 2010 at 2:21 pm

These are pretty excellent pictures. Isn’t that Mia Farrow in the picture with Sinatra?

  4. ninion 29 Mar 2010 at 2:36 pm

The Marilyn/JFK photo is fake. Check out: http://snopes.com/photos/people/jfk-marilyn.asp

  10. GGon 30 Mar 2010 at 6:44 am

thats is eric claptons grandmother not his mother and these photos would be better described as iconic not rare or shocking as any stumbler of note has seen them all.

  11. Mike Morganon 30 Mar 2010 at 9:17 am

Wow! these are really cool archival photos – wonder if they are all real especially the JFK and MM one!!!

  12. Matton 30 Mar 2010 at 9:32 am

Shame about the Monroe/JFK one, I thought it was kinda cute.

  17. Jules Jimon 30 Mar 2010 at 8:47 pm

Is not the Marilyn on the beach Jeanne Moreau?

  18. Lonoon 30 Mar 2010 at 9:17 pm

I’m with tishy – awesome pic of brando but love the majority.

  20. smon 31 Mar 2010 at 12:53 am

I don’t believe that the one of JFK and Marilyn Monroe can be real. Can someone convince me otherwise!?!? Is that documented??

  21. Groveron 31 Mar 2010 at 1:13 am

I didn’t know there was photo evidence of JFK & MM. Qool.

  22. Anneon 01 Apr 2010 at 12:56 am

The JFK Marilyn one isn’t real. It’s a photo by Alison Jackson, who uses celebrity look alikes to create her pieces. Here’s some of her work.

  23. sson 01 Apr 2010 at 1:02 am

  24. Danielaon 01 Apr 2010 at 2:50 am

andy warhol and john lennon=WTF?! just looking at warhol’s expression makes me sick… not homophobic or anything is just that i love john lennon :(

jimmy page’s and marlon brando’s pics are so cute!

  25. TOMTOMon 01 Apr 2010 at 2:50 am

Wow, these photos are amazing, nice find. I kept finding myself completely lost in thought contemplating what each celebrity might have been feeling at that moment.

  26. Lennonsgirlon 01 Apr 2010 at 3:38 pm

I love John Lennon too, but this made me crack up…and I’m pretty sure Yoko loved John, and she didn’t seem to mind at all! Artists…

  27. Meon 01 Apr 2010 at 6:25 pm

  29. tiffon 02 Apr 2010 at 6:13 am

Well, as someone who hadn’t seen any of these images before, and also as (non-professional) photographer, I really loved these. Rehash or not, I wouldn’t have seen them otherwise, so thanks.

  30. toosaon 02 Apr 2010 at 6:34 am

Think the one with Nicholoson and Beatty includes Lauren Bacall in the middle ;)

  31. Robon 02 Apr 2010 at 9:32 pm

The Hitchcock picture is fantastic, such a beautiful contrast to any other picture of him

  32. FRon 03 Apr 2010 at 11:10 pm

Chances are the Hitchcock picture is of him and his three Grand daughters. Thanks Wikipedia! He had one daughter who then had three daughters of her own.

  33. Guilherme Rossettion 05 Apr 2010 at 1:04 am

I think what I love most about most of all of these is how they all look like regular people doing regular things. There is no “glam” here, so to speak.

Isn’t that Mia Farrow with Sinatra?

  55. ryanon 28 Apr 2010 at 9:00 pm

The one with John Lennon is odd.
I like the one with Monroe and JFK, I didn’t realize there was such graphic proof of their affair.

The first Marilyn Monroe one is absolutely stunning – every now and again you come across some non-hollywood pics of Marilyn that show just how incredibly beautiful she really was.

The one with Jack seems a bit suspect tho’

  58. Stephenon 04 May 2010 at 8:50 am

    Great photos!

Sure that’s not Robert Kennedy with Marilyn Monroe?

  59. petclinicon 24 May 2010 at 12:21 pm

    Really…………………. good work.

Eric Clapton and mum – awkward picture.

  62. m.bon 04 Jun 2010 at 11:06 pm

Paul McCartney is so wasted, I’d love a spliff right now, a big, fat, spliff…

  63. helenon 05 Jun 2010 at 1:20 am

Really liked them – hadn’t seen them elsewhere so Thank You! Loved MM, and Connery. Some beautiful shots. Shame Alison Jackson (fraudster) has managed to get her art on here (in her other works you can tell it’s not MM cos the arse is too big lol).

    Thanks

  64. matton 08 Jun 2010 at 9:26 pm

didn’t i just read some yahoo! article about there only being one known photo in existence of jfk & marilyn together, and it WASN’T the one posted above! i guess someone either didn’t do their research for that article or the one about is a fake. i think the first option is more likely, lol

Alfred Hitchcock never had sons – he only had one daughter.

  68. Marnieon 03 Oct 2010 at 12:04 pm

The picture of Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow is so glamourous in a really cool way – the suits and cat masks. Tres chic!

  69. ASTECHTOOLSon 10 Oct 2010 at 9:44 pm

Bruch Lee, no one can do like him, transforming violent action into the beautiful melody.

“Time” magazine description: If you see a figure swirling in the air, the moment 2 villains played fainted, and then also two flying fist, the other 2 villains crashed down too, you know that: Bruce Lee came!

Bruch’s life is short, but he is the great dragon in the eyes of young forever!

He is very cool in this picture, right?

  70. ASTECHTOOLSon 10 Oct 2010 at 9:49 pm

    Directors and Muses

rare movie type for now, support him!

  71. BORISon 17 Dec 2010 at 12:43 pm

  75. minaon 28 Apr 2011 at 12:29 pm

Sean Connery….pose with briggite is about right as he is such a misogenist in real life….. some say a closet bisexual… who knows… anyway..yes they made me chuckle..

    :)

  76. Lucason 29 Apr 2011 at 11:55 pm

Bruce Lee’s photo is the classiest one on this list, followed very closely by Freddie Mercury, purely by virtue of him being Freddie Mercury.

    ASIANS CAN ACTUALLY READ MINDS!!!!!!!!!
they can hear and see what your visually thinking

the reason alot of asians have completely expressionless faces, only associate with asians and dont associate with non asians very much is to avoid accidentally revealing that they can read read minds, if all over a billion asians were to show facial expressions all the time just as much as non asians, associate with non asians much more, and be much more friendly and talkative, then alot of them might accidentally reveal that they can read minds by accidentally showing a facial expression or dirty look when someone thinks, or visually pictures something in their mind they dont like or find astonishing or funny, and if they were all to associate with non asians alot more there would be alot more people around for them to accidentally show facial expressions when those other people think things they dont like, so they only associate with asians so there wont be anyone around for them to see that and have any accidents happen in the first place

think about it, its not normal how alot of them act, and the entire way they act is all to hide their mind reading abilities, it makes perfect sense to do all of that to hide that they can read minds, because all of that is the perfect way to do it!
every single asian on the planet is hiding their mind reading abilities, they value hiding their mind reading abilities more then their own lives!
thats why nobody knows about it!

try thinking, best yet visually picturing in your mind something something absolutely crazy as you possibly can when you are around asians, and try looking for asians who give people particular looks, especially dirty looks for what appears to be for completely no reason, that is them giving people looks when they hear and visually see someone thinking something they dont like, find funny or astonishing
it still happens despite a large number of them having completely expressionless faces all the time, it would just happen alot more if none of them had completely expressionless faces all the time, its not uncommon!

i know this sounds crazy, impossible, and completely unbelievable, BUT IT ISNT CRAZY WHEN ITS TRUE

you have to spread the message!!!
the world has to know about this!!!!

  83. Aliceon 02 Oct 2011 at 11:29 pm

Yes the John Lennon one was a bit “dickish.” I also noticed that Mia Farrow was in the Frank Sinatra picture. I also noted that that was actor Gary Lockwood in the picture with Stanley Kobrick.

i loved the picture of Dennis Hopper.

  84. Schwindler Zvion 11 Oct 2011 at 10:36 am

Marilyn Monro looks so cute, but the set of the trio Yoko Lennon and hardballs “checking oil” is the best, thanks for sharing

  85. Aidyon 02 Dec 2011 at 10:48 pm

What a wonderful and nostalgic collection. The JFK and Marilyn one was a huge surprise. I mean, we all heard the rumors, that pic is truly convincing.

  86. Jenn @therebelchickon 09 Jan 2012 at 8:24 pm

I just love that first photo of Marilyn Monroe. So beautiful!

  87. Johnny Goneyoon 12 Jan 2012 at 1:54 pm

That photo of “Jimmy Page” IS NOT Jimmy Page. It has been out there as being him for years, but it has been proven not to be true. Some folks even say it’s Mitch Mitchell from the Jimi Hendrix Experience as a child, but it is definitely not Jimmy Page. Jimmy looked quite the same as a child as he did/does an adult. Look closely, it looks nothing like him!

  88. Matton 23 Feb 2012 at 9:33 pm

The photo of Sean Connery and Brigitte Bardot was probably taken on location in Spain for the 1968 film SHALAKO, in which they co-starred. As for the picture of Hitchcock, the three children in the photo with him aren’t his sons, they’re his grand-daughters, the children of his only child, his daughter Patricia.

  89. CCCCon 17 Mar 2012 at 9:25 pm

some of these aren’t surprising. like marlon brando, cobain, mercury, and mccartney all look similar to other folders.

and if you know much of anything about warhol’s work below the superficial level of basic pop culture the picture isn’t surprising at all.

  90. Bobbyon 21 Jul 2012 at 1:29 am

Cool. But Hitchcock only had a daughter, those kids must be someone else´s…

  91. Eon 15 Sep 2012 at 2:56 pm

The picture of JFK & MM together is listed on Synopes as a fake done by a photographer named Allison Jackson using models made up to look like them.

  92. Henryon 25 Sep 2012 at 6:04 pm

Bruce Lee’s photo is the classiest one on this list, followed very closely by Freddie Mercury, purely by virtue of him being Freddie Mercury.

  93. Sarahon 09 Oct 2012 at 10:24 pm

I’ve seen the photo’s of Bruce Lee, Eric Clapton, and Jane Seymour and Freddie Mercury before, so they’re definitely not rare.

  101. Dashon 03 Apr 2014 at 7:12 pm

I guess these are “rare” in the sense of hard copies, because I know I’ve seen the “impossibly dapper Bruce Lee” one everywhere.

  102. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:40 am

Those are not Marilyn Monroe and JFK, they are look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson.

  103. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:41 am

Not even him. Those two are look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson.

  104. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:42 am

The one with “Jack” is not actually a photo of them. Those are look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson.

  105. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:43 am

Those are NOT Marilyn Monroe and JFK, they are look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson and NO, there was no affair between them.

  106. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:44 am

No, those are not Marilyn Monroe and JFK. Those are look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson and there was no affair between them.

  107. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:45 am

There isn’t. That’s not them but 2 look-alikes. Also, there was no affair between these two.

  108. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:45 am

It’s not. They’re look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson.

  109. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:45 am

    That’s Marilyn Monroe.

  110. Ana Trifescuon 03 Jul 2014 at 7:47 am

The JFK-MM one is not. Those two are look-alikes photographed by Alison Jackson.
