Funny or Die has landed what could be their greatest video to date. It’s Will Ferrell’s site, and he must have called in every favor he has for this epic reunion, which features all past SNL presidents coming together to teach Barack Obama a lesson about consumer protection, and it’s all directed by Ron Howard.

There’s Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph in their current Barack and Michelle roles. Will Ferrell and Darrell Hammond reprise Bush and Clinton. Other SNL cronies show up in the form of Dana Carvey as Bush Sr, Dan Akroyd as Carter and Chevy Chase as Ford, but those last two are kind of hard to pin down. Chase just looks like himself (though he has the funniest line in the entire skit) and Dan Akroyd doesn’t look like Dan Akroyd.

And what of The Gipper, played by the late Phil Hartman? Well, Jim Carrey steps in, and does a dead on impression of Hartman doing an impression of Reagan. And he’s also a zombie. With really huge balls.

It’s all a big message about establishing some sort of consumer protection agency that combats credit card companies screwing people over, and frankly I’m a bit surprised its not about health care, but I guess maybe some of the people involved had differing politics on the matter. In any case, it’s one of the greatest reunions I’ve ever seen.

The Ron Howard narration at the end made me really miss Arrested Development again…
