The Most Insane Starcraft 2 Match to Date

Published by Paul Tassi under Video Games,Videos

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncb7lHNWbnU

Well a while back I said I was going to stop posting epic Starcraft matches due to apparent lack of interest, but that sparked a cry of comments to keep them coming. So knowing that a few fans are out there, I felt obligated to post this match, which is most definitely the craziest one I’ve see on Starcraft II beta so far.

It’s not a massive 50 minute contest like some of the other videos you’ll find online, rather it’s a short ten minute bout with new twists and turns every thirty seconds or so. I still can’t believe how the person who won finally ended up claiming victory. You really just have to see for yourself.

The Coolest Car Engine Mod Ever

Published by Nattyb under Images

NES Car Engine

Honestly I haven’t seen too many car engine modifications that turn an engine into a Nintendo Controller.  Hell I haven’t seen many car mods period.  It just doesn’t seem logical.   I mean how often do you want people checking under the hood?

I would think any kind of “mod” is something that you want others to see.  In any event I think it’s pretty awesome that this person made his engine into an original NES controller.

Well done sir.

Pink Floyd Remastered for the NES

Published by Paul Tassi under Video Games,Videos

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp14xXwnwJA

I may be too young to know anything about Pink Floyd besides that Dark Side of the Moon fits really well with The Wizard of Oz, but I know some of you out there have to be fans, which is why I’m posting this pretty cool project where someone took the band and remastered some of their better tracks for the NES.

It’s a bummer they don’t go along with any actual gameplay, but I think they’d probably be pretty trippy set to Mario Bros. or Zelda. Or really anything, it’s Pink Floyd after all.

My favorite track is above, but I’ve posted some more after the jump.

Lost Review: “The Package”

Published by Paul Tassi under Reviews,Television

lost-the-package1.jpg

Well at long f*cking last. I thought we were going to get this Jin/Sun interlude about a month ago when we saw Jin locked in a freezer in the alterverse, but a bunch of much more interesting episodes cropped up and pushed it back until now.

A Jin/Sun episode poses the challenge of making Jin and Sun seem relevant, and although I like their characters, I can’t really say that’s something they’ve ever been. The focus this week was that one or both of them are necessary to Not-Locke’s escape as they’re both possible candidates since Jacob doesn’t feel the need to write first initials on his giant wall/compass name list.

Not-Locke tells Jin that he’s very important, and he’s going to reunite him with Sun so he can get everyone off the island. He reveals that all the remaining candidates need to leave with him, which we assume is so no one is left to step up into Jacob’s shoes and keep him constrained there with magic angel powers.

Well, That Just Ruined That

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Movies,Video Games

bayonetta-terminator.jpg

What happens when you cross Arnold’s Terminator with Bayonetta? You get an image the ruins both of them forever. Thanks photoshop! Too bad it’s not a full body shot so we can see Arnold sprouting boobs and wearing high heels with guns embedded into them. Actually, I think some images are better left unseen.

On a related note, is Bayonetta actually worthwhile? I’ve been more of a GOW/Dante’s Inferno person rather than a Devil  May Cry guy, but I did manage to get through DMC4 having a decent time. Is Bayonetta just way too over the top for me do you think? I suppose it might be worth a rent.

A Freaky Gallery of Cartoon Characters Untooned

Published by Madison under Images,Movies,Television

real-life-popeye-untooned.jpg

There’s something unnerving about seeing cartoon characters brought to life.  Seeing exaggerated and disproportionate features on the face of a cartoon is common, but when those same features are stuck on the face of a realistic depiction of that character, it’s nothing short of jarring.

We’ve featured some of these cartoon characters “untooned” on this site before, but never have they all been conveniently placed in one gallery.  You can check out your favorite cartoon characters as they’d look in real life below, but as Mac California told Tom Welles in 8mm, there are some things you can’t un-see.  Grab your torches and pitchforks and prepared to be freaked out.

Masters of the Universe Action Figure Action Shots

Published by Nattyb under Images

He-Man

While I now realize that He-Man was mostly a front for a writer that wanted to depict his homosexuality it doesn’t change the fact that I loved the show as a kid growing up.  And no, I don’t feel any different about my sexuality.

And to this day there are millions of people who still cling to the show and more importantly to the wonderful action figures that were left behind.

I found a psycho fan of He-Man on Flickr by the username Xander Martin who decided to share his Masters of the Universe set and put the figures in outdoor situations.

Check out the gallery after the jump

The Morning Link: If Mario Kart Weapons Were Real

Published by Nattyb under Morning Link

Yoshi

Mario Kart is one game that I distinctly remember having more power than most video games.  And by power I’m referring to the addictive qualities it possessed.  From the sounds of “Waaario!” and “Hehehehe!” to the precision of firing a red shell, it was fantastic.

And in college I can remember literally almost getting into fist fights over “who’s next?” when someone was waiting to get in a race.  Ah, those days are long gone but Mario Kart still lives on and kicks ass.

But imagine those weapons were real?  Cracked has done a comprehensive analysis on if the Mario Kart weapons were in fact real.
