More Fun with Infographics: World of Warcraft

This is like the first 10% of it.

I’m well aware of the impressive usage statistics of World of Warcraft, but this giant infographic (via Online Education) had some info that boggled my mind even further.

1 out of 5 players are FEMALE!?! Just kidding, but stats like WoW has 62% of the ENTIRE MMO market, with nothing even CLOSE to second place is insane, and the fact that 20,000 computers make up the WoW server cluster (with operating costs over $100K a day) is something I can barely comprehend. I think the most disturbing thing is the average time per week playing at over 20 hours. But wait, people really watch 40 hours of TV a week on average? That doesn’t seem right…

So take a break from questing for a second, and check out all the stats below:

    I’m not a big TV watcher especially with all the reality shit, but I can see that number being right. 3-4 hours of the tube after work each night plus the weekends.

    @Jason

    Man I see what you’re saying but I don’t know how anyone can spend up to 4 hours a night watching tv. I just can’t get into anything besides my three shows: The Office, Attack of the Show, and X-Play. The g4 shows I don’t even watch but once or twice a week. Unless I’m stoned I have a really hard time seeing that much television in one night.

    Side question: does playing video games count as “watching” tv? You know, since you technically are looking at the tv while youre playing.

    Tittiessssss!
