So I guess there was some sort of online poll as to what job Barbie should have next. I’m 90% sure Reddit rigged the thing, and so therefore we now have Computer Engineer Barbie. I mean sure, she’s got glasses, a laptop and a binary shirt, but good lord, is she a computer engineer from The Fifth Element?

Someone needs to Google “geek chic.” This looks like Miami Vice got into a fight with Tron and the battered end result was doused in a bucket of stock tech support photo. You know, the hot chicks in glasses always willing to answer your tech questions in a super sexy voice? Yes, the ones that don’t exist, exactly.

I mean, I guess this is progress, but of course it’s perpetuating that for any job to feminine the work attire must be drenched in pink, but I’ll give Mattel a win here. At least she’s not wearing some sort of circuit board printed work bikini. I really did expect the image on her computer to be online shopping though.
