Because assassins can rearrange their bone structure…

I consider myself a fairly well versed photoshop connoisseur. I know my masks and paths and what not, but it’s shocking just how bad some of the supposed “professionals” in the movie industry are. This collection of movie art is just a little bit off, and you might not see it on your first glance, but something just isn’t right.

And yes, I did take these from one of my favorite websites of the year, Photoshop Disasters, which has a crap ton more magazine covers and ads and such that look even worse than what you’re about to see. I highly suggest you go check them out when you’re done here.

I added helpful hints in case you can’t quite figure out what to look at.

    Wow, you’d think head proportions would be a little easier to figure out…

    I’ll never understand these. Is it so hard to get the stars of the movie to give a simple pose? For that matter, this wouldn’t be a problem if more movies went with someone like Drew Struzan to make awesome paintings instead of formulaic pictures for their posters.

    Megan Fox’s lack of ribcage is real. Shots of her on set confirm it.

    dane cook wrote a blog about how horrible that movie poster is… here’s a link to an article about it.

    as for the megan fox… she literally is that tiny. i don’t think that was bad photoshopping, because she has a 22″ waist and there is hardly any ribcage.

    But that’s really how they look.

    And you just thought the camera added 20 lbs.

    Idiots, its because they are hanging on walls, your supposed to be looking up at them not straight on….

    There are a myriad of forces at work. Unless it’s a HUGE tentpole blockbuster movie, most actors will not go separately to a photo shoot unless they are paid extra – so in most cases, it’s done on the set. And in the case where you have a multitudes of stars, good luck gettng all of them in the same room – it’s not like getting all your relatives in one shot, everyone requires their own makeup, their own lighting, etc, etc … and other actors will loath standing around waiting for X to be made up and come out of their dressing room … or spend an hour waiting because the water for their dog is not Fiji water. Or god forbid, EVERY actor and their rep wants creative control of that photo shoot (Why am I on the left when i’m the bigger star, etc, etc …) so it’s just easier to shoot everyone separately. Or in extreme cases where the actors are unwilling to show up at all, you just hire lookalikes and PS their heads on …

    That’s only part 1. Now the poster gets tested and approved by everyone involved. If you have a major producer (Spielberg, Cameron, etc …), the creative direction is easy and mos everyone falls in line … of course, in a mid tier movie, it’s jthe hardest because either the star can’t decide or worse, their reps want creative control … then the studio or distributor … and yes, you get notes back that the hair isn’t right or they should be thinner, etc , etc … and by the time you get all the fixes in, it’s PS frankenstein …

    bottom line – it’s too many cooks in the kitchen and the PS guy/gal at some point pulls out their hair …

    @gooney

    at least 5 of those are dvd cases, and the ones that aren’t will be. Do you hang dvd cases on walls? Idiot.

    @ Gooney,
    I’m pretty sure the last MANY, MANY times I went to the movies or encountered a poster, it was more or less on eye level. It’s not like they’re up by the ceiling… you’re not really looking up that high & even the change in perspective doesn’t necessarily make these not poorly Photoshopped. Period.

    The Jonah hex one isn’t photoshopped like you think. Just do a google search ‘Megan Fox Corset’ and be amazed.
