10 Amazing Japanese Video Game Commercials

I’ve written before that I’m cautiously fascinated with Japanese culture. Some of their commercials are enough to give me a seizure with all the flashing lights and colors, and more often than not, I feel like the images on the screen have absolutely nothing to do with the product being sold. To call it an assault on the senses would be an understatement.
Japanese video game commercials are a bit tamer, but there’s also no shortage of weird. Unlike the commercials for video games we have here in the States – which usually just feature a bunch of clips from cutscenes – the Japanese ones feature dancing, ridiculous characters, and all sorts of WTF. Have fun with 10 of the most ridiculously awesome Japanese video game commercials I could find.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario RPG
The Sega SG-1000
Kid Icarus
Sega Saturn
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Mario Kart DS
Kaiju Busters
Sonic Adventure
F1 Racer

The Kaiju commercial freaks me out. There is NOTHING attractive about a monobrow……!
