“Jersey Shore” Cast Would be Moronic Not to Sign on For Second Season
OK if you don’t like the show “Jersey Shore” then I officially think you’re lying. Like, there’s no way I believe you. This thing is 100% pure entertainment. Stupid people acting stupid but with all the drama of a real family times a million. Not to mention the real appeal of the show, which is the fact that despite all the idiocy, the cast is in fact human and does have real feelings. But this my friends was ridiculous….
The “Jersey Shore” kids didn’t fall off the pizza delivery truck yesterday — TMZ has learned they have rejected MTV’s salary offer for Season 2.
Sources connected with the negotiation say MTV offered Snooki, Pauly D, “The Situation” and the others each a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 an episode. We’re told the cast rejected the offer and made it clear — they were negotiating “Friends” style … everyone would get the same amount and it had to be a lot higher than MTV’s offer.
Sources say MTV came back and doubled the offer — $10,000 an episode. The cast hasn’t responded to the offer.
So let me get this straight. The cast is turning down what would be around $80,000 each for one month’s “work.” What does that “work” entail? Getting free food. Free room and board. Having your own security team walk around with you. Allowing you to get into bar fights without getting arrested (guarantee Ronnie’s arrest was bullshit). You get to go on boats, excursions for free, and work in T-Shirt store for less than 2 hours a day. Am I missing something? Oh yeah, you get slutty girls virtually planted in front of your face by MTV. You’re being PAID to cause trouble and get hammered every night.
Um, I’m pretty certain I’d do this for free. And if these people don’t agree to this new offer then they really are as stupid as we all think they are.

They have MTV by the balls. This is the only show in the last couple years that has had a lot of success. You think they’re dumb for asking so much but they’ll get probably whatever they ask for.
I just mean the concept itself is dumb. If they get the money, good for them.
Oh and P.S. If you think MTV can’t find another 7 retards to do another season for basically nothing then you’re pretty naive. This people are a dime a dozen.
It’s a name brand though. People want to see “The Situation”. People want to see Snooki. Sure you could start off a whole new batch of guidos and guidettes but who knows if they have the chemistry that made this season so popular? I’m not saying it wouldn’t work but corporations would much rather spend money on something that is guaranteed to work (i.e. rehiring their “stars”) as opposed to starting fresh.

I read a very similar article, which kind of put it more into perspective.
“As much as they act like trashy morons, the gang wasn’t born yesterday. The season finale drew 4.8 million viewers, making $10K/episode a relative steal.
For reference, some members of The Hills cast are raking in $50,000-100,000 an episode, and that was pulling in half as many viewers last season at best.”
While I agree, I’d do it for $5000 an episode (also probably free), these guys apparently aren’t dumb and know they, if nothing else, deserve more.
