Microsoft Tries to Be Funny, and It Almost Works

Published by at 3:00 pm under Movies,Videos

I was surprised to learn that this trailer for “Office 2010″ was actually made by Microsoft’s official ad agency, but I guess I should have known judging by all the motorcycle chases and helicopters. That ain’t something you see in just any YouTube video unless it’s pulling pieces from a Michael Bay movie.

It’s trying to be a CollegeHumor style parody, but just…didn’t quite do it for me, although I did laugh at the guy’s partner being “Clippy.”

Also, it made me sad that the season premiere of 24 isn’t until NEXT week, a fact I learned when I watched our own banner ad on our site. Turns out those can actually be useful!

not bad, but not genius either……microsoft has been a complete fail for the past decade, imo, there only success has been Office. Can’t really think of anything else they have put out that has been innovated or not a copy of something else.

They need to let go of that douche Ballmer.

    @ Jaromir

    I dunno. I wouldn’t consider the Xbox a failure.

I would consider the Xbox in the win column for Microsoft. But yeah, they’ve had a lot of strikes against them and Apple’s success isn’t helping their reputation.
