So There WAS Supposed to be a Sex Scene in Avatar
During my review of Avatar the other week, I wondered why exactly it was that when Neytiri and Jake hooked up, there was no braid bonding. It seemed to be the logical go-to biological move for a Na’vi sex scene, but instead all we had was a quick makeout session. Well, according to James Cameron and Zoe Saldana, this was not supposed to have been the case, and the scene in question did actually exist at one point.
Cameron:”We had it in and we cut it out. So that will be something for the special edition DVD, if you want to see how they have sex.”
Saldana: “If you sync to your banshee and you’re syncing to a tree, why not sync into a person? I almost feel like you’ll have the most amazing orgasm, I guess. It was a very funny scene to shoot because there were so many technical things that sometimes you have to keep in mind that paying attention to all those might disrupt the fluidity of how a scene is supposed to take place.”
Yeahh, I knew it. See? I could write this shit. And yeah, imagining Worthington and Saldana simulating alien sex which wearing full mo-cap suits and cameras on their faces is definitely one behind-the-scenes featurette I’d like to see.

I actually had this sort of discussion about the movie. I wouldn’t like the fact the tendrils would be used as sex. Because then you could essentially say… they’re having sex with that tree, or they’re having sex with that horse, or with those dragons, etc. And, plus what about the fact if a na’vi walks past another and it accidently entangles?

But when they are making out, there was the sex scene. He he lifted her up, they started having sex. I think the sex scene is just an R-rated extension of the regular sex scene.
