If you ever get overwhelmed by the current crop of superhero movies that populate the land, all you have to do is look backwards and see that in comparison, things really aren’t so bad. This is well-evidenced by this set of deleted scenes from Superman 4: The Quest for Peace that feature Lex Luthor acting like Willy Wonka and accidentally creating Bizarro Superman who looks and acts a lot like Encino Man. Seriously, you have to watch this.

As an added bonus, there’s even a part two if you think you can handle it, which I’ve embedded after the jump. That set features an epic battle between Superman and Encino Man in front of a Burger King. “Epic” would not be the right word. “Epic fail” however, is a lot more descriptive.
